Showcase puts the spotlight on area’s rising stars

Stamford’s Palace Theatre lately has been the scene for the next generation of talented performers, beginning with the Young Choreographers Festival, which debuted on Nov. 20, and continuing with the next young performers’ showcase, Friday, Dec. 2.

On that evening, dancers, musicians and singers will come together for a holiday program. Original works will be featured along with some novel collaborations that bring together young people from organizations such as the Ballet School of Stamford, Lumina String Quartet, Westhill High School Winter Percussion Ensemble, Stamford High School Madrigal Singers and Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic.

The evening is being presented by the Stamford Center for the Arts and Stamford Gives Back, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the arts founded by Maureen Pavia, the wife of Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $102 (which includes a pre-performance reception) to $5 for students. For more information, call 203-325-4466 or visit the Stamford Arts Center’s website.
